Bengali actor Rahul Arunoday Banerjee passed away on Sunday (March 29) due to an accidental drowning at Talsari in Digha, close to the Odisha–West Bengal border. He was 43 years old. Banerjee had journeyed to the seaside site for the filming of a Bengali TV project. Shooting for a series named Bhole Baba Par Karega had been in progress since the morning.

As per early reports, the event occurred after the filming concluded in the afternoon. Banerjee allegedly went into the sea by himself after finishing. In a brief period, he disappeared, causing alarm among the production team members who were at the scene.

Crew members and technicians hurried to react and succeeded in retrieving him from the water. He was promptly transported by vehicle to Digha Sub-divisional Hospital, situated approximately 10-12 kilometers from Talsari Beach. At 6:10 PM, doctors subsequently pronounced him dead. Initial results indicate that drowning is the reason for death.
