What Is Greenland 2: Migration About?

“After a comet impact that devastated much of the Earth, GREENLAND 2: MIGRATION tracks the Garrity family—John (Gerard Butler), Allison (Morena Baccarin), and their son Nathan (Roman Griffin Davis)—as they must exit the safety of their shelter in Greenland.”

The family must journey through a broken world seeking a new place to live, overcoming perilous obstacles, limited supplies, and people driven to extremes in this intense survival thriller.

Greenland Franchise Success

While Greenland 2: Migration was being marketed, it turned into a sought-after item. The post-apocalyptic film was acquired in the largest transaction at the Cannes virtual market, with STX securing a substantial $75 million deal. 

Domestic rights for the movie were purchased for $25 million, and STX will acquire all international rights from Anton in a deal totaling about $50 million. 

Numerous streamers were vying for the sequel, and STX ensured they were at the front of the queue for it. STX released the first film and they had a corresponding option to acquire the sequel.
