Badaas Ravi Kumar Trailer Review

Following Tandoori Nights, Himesh Rehammiya returns to spoil your Tandoori Days too, yet I am struck by the sincerity of this 3-minute 25-second trailer that showcases precisely what the film has in store.

The ensemble features Saurabh Sachdeva, Johnny Lever, Sanjay Mishra, and many others, with Prabhu Deva portraying the character set to clash with the legendary Badass Ravi Kumar.

Himesh Reshammiya’s Badass Ravi Kumar is a well-structured movie that has already recouped its Rs. 20 crore production budget achieved via creative financial approaches.

Releasing Date

The movie appears to be a parody of what we cherished in 80s Cinema and closely resembles the Gunda genre, which became a cult classic for clear reasons (note the sarcasm). In a particular scene, Himesh Reshammiya remarks, “Tu bada hokar bigda hoga, main bachpan se kharaab hun” and while I mean no disrespect to HR's talent, I would concur with this claim if he is referring to movies and acting overall.

Although a section of me privately enjoyed the Himesh Reshammiya category of movies, particularly Radio. However, this one appears to be the pampered, wealthy, privileged child who enjoys the freedom to act as he wishes, at any time he desires.

Badass Ravi Kumar premieres on February 7, and believe that audiences will still flock to theaters to see it. Simply for entertainment.

Earning

According to information from the film's creators, the music for Badass Ravi Kumar has earned Rs 16 cr from the soundtrack, background score, dialogues, and perpetual music rights, along with an additional Rs. 4 crore is being received from the subsidy of the film that was filmed in Oman.

Curiously, however, alongside the Rs. 20 crore that has been recouped, the promotional expenses for the movie amount to another Rs. 4 crores anticipated to be retrieved from the film's digital satellite and theatrical rights.

The film, located in the 1980s, reflects the aesthetics of timeless films from filmmakers such as Feroz Khan and Rajiv Rai, featuring the tagline "80s type ki picture." Even with its impressive appearance, the production was executed without any waste or excessive expenditure. Thanks to careful pre-production planning for more than a year, Himesh, who plays the lead role, also takes on the roles of composer and vocalist.

Recorded Tracks In The Movie

Significantly, he has given up his standard fee, choosing a profit-sharing setup instead. The movie includes 16 recorded tracks (featuring a 7 song medley) released under his music label, Himesh Reshammiya Melodies, enhancing its commercial appeal.

Regarding the same matter, Himesh mentioned, “I am part of a profit-sharing arrangement for this film and have not charged for my music, which includes composing 16 songs, along with my acting and singing contributions.

Furthermore, because of our extensive experience in producing mega serials and high-budget films, we have meticulously planned this movie for over a year to eliminate any wastage, ensuring it remains cost-effective while appearing as a grand project with impressive locations and subsidies from Oman.

With the 16 fantastic songs for the music label in perpetuity, we have recovered the production costs and expect substantial profit from digital rights, satellite rights, and theatrical share. I am very pleased with the final outcome and am hopeful for its success.”

With a solid production plan and a nostalgic 80s vibe, Badass Ravi Kumar is set to deliver big on both entertainment and profits. February 7 can't come soon enough!
