Is Leonardo DiCaprio Joining The Squid Game Season 3?

Although the announcement had everyone buzzing, rumors began circulating about the casting for the third season, with one mentioning Oscar-winning actor Leonardo DiCaprio.

Leonardo DiCaprio In Squid Game Season 3

Various sources have reported that the Killers of the Flower Moon actor might join the cast of Squid Game season 3.

According to reports, DiCaprio is reportedly set to make an unexpected cameo, with his filming taking place under tight secrecy last year. Although his part was described as small, additional information was kept under wraps to prevent spoilers.

Nonetheless, it appears that the reports are not accurate. Netflix has officially addressed the speculation regarding Leonardo DiCaprio’s role in the series and stated, “The rumors are entirely untrue.” According to Soompi, claims of Leonardo DiCaprio participating in Squid Game Season 3 are completely baseless.

Squid Game Creator’s Statement

Significantly, the primary origin of the rumors originates from 2022, when Squid Game creator Hwang Dong Hyuk hinted at his admiration for the actor. During a press conference held by Netflix, Dong Hyuk responded to a question about the possibility of any Hollywood actors joining the Emmy-winning show in the future by stating, "There will not be any recognized Hollywood actor in Season 2."

That isn’t part of the plan, and if the situation changes, perhaps in Season 3—but for Season 2, it's still taking place in Korea. Leonardo DiCaprio mentioned that he’s a huge admirer of ‘Squid Game,’ so perhaps if the opportunity arises, we could invite him to play.

Squid Game Season 3

In the initial teaser for Season 3, viewers saw the arena where three new contestants encounter the ‘Red Light, Green Light’ doll facing away from them. Soon after, the teaser shows a boy doll on the opposite side of the tracks, looking directly at her.

The second season, which can now be streamed on Netflix, launched on December 26 and has garnered millions of views in just a matter of days. Rising to the top spot on the weekly non-English television chart in 92 nations and achieving 68 million views within the first three days on the streaming platform, the series has captivated global audiences.

In the second segment, Lee Jung Jae’s Seong Gi Hun returns to the island driven by a desire for revenge and to reveal the dubious organization behind the game.
