Andrew Tye, the Australian quick, was snapped up by the Kings XI Punjab for a hefty amount Rs 7.20 crore in the Indian Premier League auction.
The deal was announced on the same day Tye snared career-best figures of 5-46 in the ODI loss to England at Perth Stadium.The 31-year-old Tye was a journeyman club cricketer in Perth and England before WA coach Justin Langer provided him with an unexpected lifeline in 2013.
Tye has since starred for the Perth Scorchers in the Big Bash League (BBL) and played limited-overs cricket for Australia.
