It opens with the Bhuttakas, described as dark forces of nature even darker than the night itself, and a chilling tribal warning: "Agar koi raat ko Vvaan mein pravesh karta hai, Toh uski lash bhi nhi milti" (meaning nobody is allowed to enter the Vvaan forest once the sun sets).
Sidharth Malhotra and Tamannaah Bhatia share the screen for the very first time in this upcoming Bollywood movie, and the trailer makes their pairing count. Between eerie forest visuals, sudden bursts of action, and a slow build-up of dread, it's clear the makers wanted this trailer to feel like a genuine departure from the usual Bollywood romance or action template.
What Is the Story of Vvaan Movie?
Here's where this Tamannaah Bhatia movie gets genuinely interesting. The story kicks off around something fairly ordinary - Tamannaah's character wants to go back to their hometown for Chhath Puja. Sidharth's character, though, keeps finding excuses to avoid the trip. She, on the other hand, believes it isn't just a festival calling them back. She believes the goddess herself wants them there.
Once they arrive, the real conflict begins. On one side stands the sacred Vvaan Devi forest, tied to centuries of local belief. On the other, a development plan that wants to cut it all down. Sunil Grover's character raises a fair point about the village lacking basic facilities, but the villagers still push back hard against touching the forest, since it's considered the home of the Vvaan Devi temple.
Sidharth Malhotra's character, who doesn't buy into any of the old stories, eventually enters the forbidden forest anyway and gets injured. That's when things shift from village drama into full supernatural territory. He starts seeing strange visions, and a priest tells him the goddess might be trying to communicate with him directly. From there, this upcoming Bollywood movie pulls him deeper and deeper into a mystery he once dismissed entirely, eventually putting him face to face with the Bhuttakas themselves, fighting to protect the very village and beliefs he once doubted.
Interestingly, the film draws inspiration from real folklore tied to the 16th-century Van Devi Temple near Bihta in Bihar, which gives this Tamannaah Bhatia movie a grounded, cultural backbone rather than pure fantasy invention.

Alongside Sidharth Malhotra and Tamannaah Bhatia, the movie features Sunil Grover, Maniesh Paul, Shweta Tripathi Sharma, and Anup Soni in key roles, giving it a fairly wide ensemble to work with beyond just its two leads.

The makers aren't stopping at just one movie. They've also created a companion comic book titled The Legend of Vvaan, which digs further into the folklore behind the story. That's a fairly ambitious move for an upcoming Bollywood movie, suggesting the team wants to build a lasting mythology around Vvaan rather than a one-off release.
