Controversial Part Of Padmavat

The Bollywood movie Padmaavat encountered significant controversy regarding its historical fidelity and depiction of women. The film experienced postponements and fierce demonstrations throughout India. Critics claimed that the film misrepresented history and portrayed Queen Padmavati unfavorably.

Historians, nonetheless, claimed that there is insufficient evidence for her existence. Some argued that Queen Padmavati is not a real character but rather a fictional creation from the epic poem Padmavat. The verse was composed in 1540 by the Sufi poet Malik Muhammad Jayasi.

Political parties in India expressed varied views on the film, intensifying the discussion. The scenario intensified with threats of violence and mortality aimed at the film's director, Sanjay Leela Bhansali, and main actress, Deepika Padukone.

The Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) authorized the film following recommendations for modifications. A significant change was changing its name from Padmavati to Padmaavat to emphasize its fictional origins.

Even with the modifications, the movie was prohibited in Malaysia because it depicted a Muslim leader unfavorably. Others also claimed that the movie promotes misogyny. Padmaavat ultimately premiered on January 25, 2018.

Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone, who were in a relationship during the film, star in the lead roles alongside Shahid Kapoor. Ranveer and Deepika tied the knot in November 2018.

Regardless of the controversies, Padmaavat proved to be a significant box office hit. The film garnered Rs 585 crore globally. The gross collection in India reached Rs 400 crore, with Rs 185 crore generated from the international market.

Whether it's the soulful romance of Sanam Teri Kasam or the grandeur of Padmaavat, their re-release is a golden chance to relive the magic. Don’t miss this nostalgic cinematic experience!
