Pushpa 2: The Rule Day 1 Box Office Collection
Pushpa 2 Box Office Earnings Day 1: The Allu Arjun film Pushpa 2 hit theaters on Thursday. The action sequel has broken records to become the largest debut of all time. Pushpa 2 generated an astounding Rs 165 crore net on its opening day at the cinemas. It earned Rs 10.1 crore in Telugu during Wednesday previews, bringing its overall opening total to Rs 175.1 crore.
Pushpa 2 grossed Rs 95.1 crore in Telugu, Rs 67 crore in Hindi, Rs 7 crore in Tamil, Rs 5 crore in Malayalam, and Rs 1 crore in Kannada. This also positions it as the highest opener in Hindi, surpassing Jawan, which earned Rs 65.5 crore in Hindi on its first day. According to trade analyst Manobala Vijayabalan, Pushpa 2 has grossed around Rs 282.91 crore globally.
On the first day, Pushpa 2 recorded an overall occupancy of 82.66 percent in Telugu. The movie featured more than 1500 screenings in Hyderabad, achieving over 94 percent occupancy, and had over 1000 screenings in Bengaluru, with over 70 percent occupancy. The Delhi-NCR area hosted more than 1700 shows, achieving a 61 percent occupancy rate, while the Mumbai area had upwards of 1500 shows with approximately 57 percent occupancy.
Highest Opening In Indian Cinema
Pushpa 2’s opening of Rs 175 crore has secured its position as the highest opener in India's history. Prior to this, the top position was occupied by SS Rajamouli’s RRR, which earned Rs 133 crore net on its first day. This was succeeded by Baahubali 2, which earned Rs 121 crore net on its opening day. KGF 2 and Kalki 2898 AD earned Rs 116 crore nett and Rs 114 crore nett on their individual opening days.
Pushpa 2 premiered on Thursday, giving the movie a four-day weekend. If it successfully earns Rs 300 crore globally on its first day, the film might approach Rs 1000 crore in total earnings over its opening weekend worldwide, a milestone that has never been achieved. The all-time highest-grossing Indian movie is Dangal, earning over Rs 2500 crore post its release in China, while Baahubali 2 ranks next with Rs 1788 crore earned during its theater run.
