In Call Me Bae, Ananya's character undergoes a dramatic shift from living a lavish lifestyle in New Delhi to hitting rock bottom. The teaser opens with her recounting her privileged upbringing until she's suddenly downgraded to middle-class status, leading to her credit cards being declined. This shift forces her to adapt to a new life in Mumbai, where she struggles to find work. From applying for a job as a social media journalist to cleaning her own apartment, Ananya's character finds it challenging to adjust to the demands of city life. The teaser ends on a humorous note, as a security guard comments on her struggles, saying, "Your struggle is what our dreams are made of," to which Ananya's character replies, "Where have I heard that one before?"—a playful nod to Siddhant Chaturvedi's viral comment on nepotism.

The teaser has garnered positive reactions from fans. One viewer remarked, "Finally, she got a role that suits her," while another noted, "Ananya Panday is the best choice for this role; she's nailing it in the trailer... good luck!" However, there were mixed opinions as well, with some users comparing her character to Blair from Gossip Girl. The last line of the teaser, in particular, drew attention, with one commenter praising it with a series of emojis.

Call Me Bae is backed by Karan Johar, Hiroo Yash Johar, and Apoorva Mehta, with Karan also serving as the Executive Producer. The comedy-drama series is created by Ishita Moitra and directed by Colin D'Cunha, with writing credits to Ishita, Samina Motlekar, and Rohit Nair. Alongside Ananya, the show features a talented cast, including Vir Das, Gurfateh Pirzada, Varun Sood, Vihaan Samat, Muskkaan Jaferi, Niharika Lyra Dutt, Lisa Mishra, and Mini Mathur. Call Me Bae is set to premiere on Prime Video on September 6.
