A complaint has been filed against Ranbir Kapoor and his family members for allegedly hurting religious sentiments over a video showing them celebrating Christmas.
The Kapoor family recently gathered to celebrate Christmas and pictures and videos of their annual Christmas lunch went viral on social media. One of the videos that went viral on Instagram showed Ranbir Kapoor lighting a cake soaked in alcohol and setting it on fire while singing the song Jai Mata Di. Now, a complaint has reportedly been filed against Ranbir and his family members for allegedly hurting religious sentiments.

According to a report, Sanjay Tiwari filed a complaint at Ghatkopar police station through his lawyers Ashish Rai and Pankaj Mishra on Wednesday. A complaint has been filed against Ranbir Kapoor and his family members over a Christmas video that showed them celebrating Christmas. A First Information Report (FIR) has not been registered in this case yet.
Sanjay Tiwari, who filed the complaint, alleged that in the birthday video that went viral, Ranbir was seen pouring liquor on a cake and setting it on fire while singing the song 'Jai Mata Di'. The complaint states that in Hinduism, the fire god is invoked before summoning other gods, but Ranbir Kapoor and his family members deliberately used drugs while celebrating another religion's festival while chanting "Jai Mata Di." He claimed that this hurt people's religious sentiments.
Christmas lunch for the Kapoor family
The annual Christmas lunch was attended by Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, his daughter Raha, Agastya Nanda, Navya Nanda, Adar Jain, his girlfriend Alekha Advani, Randhir Kapoor, Babita Kapoor, Karisma Kapoor, Armaan Jain, Reema Jain and many more. It was held on Monday at the house of the late actor Shashi Kapoor.
