Rashmika Mandanna comes on board Animal alongside Ranbir- Shoot begins this Summer

Recently, it was confirmed that Parineeti Chopra will not be part of Animal's directed Sandeep Reddy Vanga, which features Ranbir Kapoor, Anil Kapoor and Bobby Deol in the lead roles. Since then, there has been talk of the actress taking part in this film instead of Parineeti. Alldatmatterz has exclusively learned that the national crush of India, Rashmika Mandana, has been hired to play the female lead in Animal.

Bhushan Kumar and Sandeep Reddy Vanga felt that Rashmika is a perfect fit for the duo and felt that both RK and Rashmika will light up the screen with their chemistry in Animal. The two share an interesting dynamic in the film," revealed a source close to the development, adding that Rashmika will play Ranbir's wife in the film.

Filming on this highly anticipated edge-of-the-seat drama is expected to begin this summer, once Ranbir wraps up the yet untitled Luv Ranjan rom-com. The film is produced by Bhushan Kumar under his banner, T-Series. In the years to come, Ranbir Kapoor will be seen on the big screen at frequent intervals. He opens an account in July with Shamshera, next is the ambitious Brahmastra in September. The actor kicks off 2023 by returning to the rom-com space with Luv Ranjan's hitherto untitled film about Holi and then Animal time in the second half of next year.

On the other hand, Rashmika is making her Bollywood debut with Mission Majnu alongside Sidharth Malhotra and following up with Amitabh Bachchan in Goodbye. He is also in talks with Dharma for a movie and has Magnum Opus Pushpa 2 Under Kitty with Allu Arjun. Animal is said to be set against the backdrop of the Venetian mafia in India, where Ranbir Kapoor belongs to a family of mobsters led by his father Anil Kapoor.
