Bollywood filmmaker Karan Johar has announced his return to direct with Ranveer Singh and co-star Alia Bhatt Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani. The love story between Ranveer and Alia will be the main couple of Gully Boy. KJo chose Tuesday to give the big reveal, which also falls on Ranveer's birthday. The film is written by Ishita Muitra, Shashank Khaitan and Sumit Roy. It will be launched in 2022.

“It is a love story that takes place against the backdrop of strong family feelings. Karan plans to go to the apartments around September with a 5-6 month program. It is Karan Johar’s return to his roots in the big family drama industry.

Connecting with her contacts on social media, Karan shared a teaser video of Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani, who is upbeat and setting the mood for the horrible story. He wrote, "It's nice to be behind the lens with my favorite people in front of her! Ranveer Singh, who turned 36 on Tuesday, starred in Simmba (2018), which was co-produced by Karan Johar. Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani will be his first directing collaboration with him.

Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor’s wedding around the corner ???
The film marks Karan Johar's return to directing, 5 years after Ranbir Kapoor, Anushka Sharma's Ae Dil Hai Mushkil. Previously, he was planning Takht, which has been shelved. The film in question marks Karan's first-time collaboration with Dharmendra, who will be romantically paired alongside Jaya Bachchan and Shabana Azmi.
