Pre-production work on Oh My God 2 has already begun and the film will be shot over two months later in the year. This marks bollywood actors Akshay Kumar's second collaboration with Pankaj Tripathi.
However, the same has not happened due to the covid-19- lockdown since April. We've also reported on how the team bred multiple ideas before focusing on the idea that would translate into the latest movie, since turning the franchise into something lovable like Oh My God is a huge responsibility. Now everything is blocked and things are moving at a fast pace
While the first part of the film, directed by Umesh Shukla, featured Paresh Rawal in the lead with Akshay Kumar playing the deity, we have learned exclusively that Paresh is not a part of OMG 2. “Oh My God 2 will feature "Kaleen Bhaiya" Pankaj Tripathi as the main film character with Akshay Kumar, who is reprising his role from Part 1. Discussions have been going on for some time with Pankaj and now everything is finalised,” a source close to the development revealed.
This latest bollywood movie will be released in September with two months programming. “Pre-production work has started with a team working separately to explore potential filming locations and also to decide on a specific design in the city. The film will be finished once for October. This will be Akshay’s second collaboration with Pankaj Tripathi, as the two have worked together,” the source added. Recently on Sajid Nadiadwala’s production of Bachchan Pandey, directed by Farhad Samji.As per the source, the two have bonded well on sets and this is also reflected in their camaraderie in this thriller comedy gangster movie.
The Oh My God supplement will not be directed by Umesh Shukla. While the director is incarcerated, his name remains confidential. As we previously reported, OMG 2 will be produced by Ashwin Varde alongside Akshay himself. Before moving on to Oh My God 2, Akshay will finish shooting for Anand L Rai director Raksha Bandhan, a major part of Ram Setu directed by Abhishek Sharma and another movie (more on this soon). Apart from the confirmed films mentioned above, Akshay is in talks for 11 more new projects and their lineup for the next three years is expected to close very soon.
