The Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) will launch the country's newest satellite GSAT-7A on Wednesday from the second launch pad of the Sathish Dhawan Space Center in Sriharikota, Andhra Pradesh.
The communications satellite with a weight of 2, 250 kg will be launched today at 4:10 p.m.
The satellite will be transported by the Geosynchronous Satellite Launch Vehicle-F11 (GSLV-F11), the 35th Isro communications satellite and the 13th flight of the GSLV rocket to orbit.
It is believed that the geostationary communications satellite will give a boost to the communication capabilities of the Defense Forces. GSAT-7A will provide communication services in the Ku band in the Indian region.
The Geosynchronous Satellite Launch Vehicle-F11 (GSLV-F11) with superior indigenous cryogenic stage has a total of three stages before reaching the orbit intended for the use of the propulsion system on board.
Although the first stage will take place within 20 minutes of the takeoff, it could take one or two days after the pitcher's separation to reach its final orbital stage.
This heavyweight communication satellite will provide vital data for high-tech communication in strategic fields.
The satellite will allow the IAF to interconnect its ground radar stations, air bases and airborne early warning and control aircraft (AWACS), and reduce reliance on ground control stations for drones, they said. It will also increase the war capabilities dependent on the air force network, improving its ability to operate globally.
