Kapil Sharma - Combination of Comedy and Tragedy

Kapil Sharma is the perfect example of, what a combination of hard work, true talent and passion for work can do for a person? Born on 2nd April 1981, Kapil’s father Jeetendra Kumar Punj was a Police constable while mother Janak Rani was a housewife. Kapil lost his father to cancer in 2004.

The comedian, TV Presenter was ranked at 18th position in Forbes India’s Celebrity 100 list in the year 2017. Kapil rose to fame with his first ever reality show ‘The Great Indian Laughter Challenge’ in 2007. He won the judges as well as the viewers with his witty sense of humour, confident stage appearance and melodious voice.

After hosting and participating in various shows, finally Kapil took a bold step by producing his own show ‘Comedy Nights with Kapil’ on Colors in 2013. The show became the landmark in the history on Indian television and witnessed some of the best moments with its celebrity guests. The show earned Kapil huge fame and fan following across the globe. But soon things started going down for this famous entertainer.

They say it is difficult to handle success, which at some level proved true in Kapil’s case. Soon stories of his arrogance with fans, arriving late for shoots, keeping celeb guests waiting, insulting colleagues, started making the rounds. Soon Kapil broke ties with Colors and joined Sony Entertainment with new show ‘The Kapil Sharma Show’ in 2016.

Kapil a fabulous singer himself also tried his hand at acting with Abbas Mustan’s ‘Kis Kisko Pyar Karon’ and ‘Firangi’. Both the movies did decent business at the box office but failed to establish Kapil as a full-fledged Bollywood actor.

Currently Kapil is busy with the 2nd season of his laughter riot show ‘Family Time with Kapil Sharma’.  It is said when Ajay Devgn visited Kapil’s show for his movie promotion, he advised the latter ‘to take it slowly’! Ajay a man of few words, who shares his birthday with Kapil asked him not to throw away years of his hard work and passion for appalling behaviour.  Now if Kapil will take his advice seriously or not, only time can tell!
