10. Saali Mohabbat

Saali Mohabbat is a 2025 Hindi thriller centered on Smita (Radhika Apte), a housewife from a small town whose life spirals after the murders of her husband and cousin, pulling her into a complex web of betrayal, infidelity, and hidden truths during a local police investigation.

The movie, helmed by Tisca Chopra, presents two timelines, intertwining Smita's historical struggles with a contemporary narrator, delving into ambiguous ethics and treachery, including performances by Divyendu Sharma and Anurag Kashyap.

11. Kaantha

The period mystery drama focuses on the conflict of egos between Ayya (Samuthirakaani) and TK Mahadevan (Dulquer) and the resulting repercussions. Kumari (Bhagyashri Borse), appearing with TK Mahadevan, is also ensnared in the turmoil.

Kaantha drew inspiration from the ascent and decline of former actor MK Thyagaraja Bhagavathar, recognized as the first superstar of Tamil cinema.

The emotional core of the film and Sonny Hayes’ intense history are heavily influenced by the actual accident involving Northern Irish racer Martin Donnelly.

In 1990, Donnelly experienced a terrible accident at the Spanish Grand Prix that abruptly concluded his F1 career. The incorporation of real footage from this incident, combined with Donnelly's individual superstitions and practices, offered a compelling foundation for Sonny Hayes' character.

Although the film starring Brad Pitt envisions a victorious return to F1 for Sonny, the actual Donnelly could never get back on the grid—transforming Hayes’ narrative into a “what if” fantasy rooted in the tough truths of motorsport.

Sivaranjini’s Victoria depicts a single day through a sequence of one-shot scenes in the life of Victoria, a beautician at a salon in Angamaly, who is balancing a typically hectic workday and a challenging time in her personal life.
