Rahu Ketu Review: Mythology Meets Madness in Comedy

What happens when mythology decides to loosen up and crack a few jokes? That’s exactly the question Rahu Ketu Review tries to answer.

At a time when Bollywood comedies often struggle to make audiences laugh without going overboard, this film arrives with a refreshing idea rooted in folklore and playful chaos.

With familiar faces, quirky situations, and a setting that instantly pulls you into its world, Rahu Ketu aims to be that light-hearted entertainer you watch without expectations - just to relax, smile, and forget the stress of the day.

But does the concept translate smoothly onto the screen, or does it lose its way between laughs and logic? Let’s dive into Rahu Ketu Review.

About Rahu Ketu

The film featuring Pulkit Samrat and Varun Sharma premiered in theaters today, January 16. The film, helmed by Vipul Vig, is a full-on comedy featuring the main actors from Fukrey coming together once again.

Story Of Rahu Ketu

The film opens in a quaint town in Himachal Pradesh, where author Churu Lal Sharma (Manu Rishi Chadha) is distressed by his destiny and his craft. Then arrives the enigmatic Uncle (Piyush Mishra), who holds a mystical diary/book that inscribes fates. From this book arise Rahu and Ketu, two naive yet tumultuous figures, whom the villagers view as bringers of misfortune, while for the spectators, they turn into the greatest source of amusement.

The film’s initial scenes create a dramatic atmosphere. The uncle's storytelling, glimpses of the ocean's churning (Samudra Manthan), and the concept that Rahu and Ketu are not inherently malevolent but tools of retribution for wrongdoing all merge to establish a powerful backdrop.

Rahu Ketu Review

Rahu Ketu Review: Should you skip Rahu Ketu? Definitely not. It’s a movie designed to elicit laughter and does so effectively in numerous instances. It’s a good choice for a fun viewing experience with children or following a long day. The mythical theme, vibrant characters, and the dynamic between Pulkit and Varun make it a must-see.

Nonetheless, if you anticipate consistent laughter like in Fukrey or a robust storyline, you may feel a bit let down. The concept of the film is great, but it hasn't been completely executed. A follow-up has been suggested, and hopefully, Vipul Vig will tackle the evident flaws present here, allowing the realm of Rahu and Ketu to come back more robust.

Box Office Collection

Rahu Ketu has not yet finished its opening day at the box office, so currently only advance ticket sales and industry forecasts are known, not the final day one figures.

As of Thursday, 15 January 2026, late evening IST, initial trade indicators suggest a slight opening on Friday, primarily fueled by multiplex reservations in metropolitan areas and a gradual, yet noticeable increase in last-minute ticket purchases.

Pre-booking projections from industry talks have remained in the Rs 40–50 lakh range for the opening day in India, indicating that if walk-in crowds react positively, the film could finish day 1 within the Rs 2–3 crore net range that experts have deemed a “satisfactory” beginning for its magnitude.

Rahu Ketu Review: It may not be flawless, but it delivers enough fun, charm, and comic moments to make it a decent one-time watch. Perfect if you’re in the mood for easy laughs without overthinking.
