Adipurush Blunders That Ranbir Kapoor’s Film Ramayana Avoid

Ramayana is among the most awaited films from Bollywood. Before the release, let's reflect on everything that went amiss with Adipurush, which is also inspired by the Hindu epic.

1. Poor VFX

Adipurush faced significant backlash for its poor VFX quality. Moviegoers found the sequences with Raavan and his residence in Lanka to be particularly lacking. Many were also dissatisfied with the inadequate graphic portrayal of the battle scenes between Lord Ram and Raavan. Namit Malhotra's firm is handling the visual effects for Nitesh Tiwari's Ramayana. The firm has already demonstrated its capability in major movies like Inception, Interstellar, Dune, and Tenet.

2. Ravan's look

The Adipurush teaser was unveiled on a large scale in Ayodhya on October 2. Nonetheless, the clip faced negative feedback, especially criticism regarding Saif Ali Khan's portrayal of Lankesh, inspired by Raavan. The creators displayed the actor sporting a buzz cut. This did not resonate positively with internet users who contended that the actor's look appeared ridiculous and far from resembling the emperor he was.

3. Colloquial dialogues

A primary criticism of Adipurush was its significant dependence on casual dialogues. The film's screenwriter, Manoj Muntashir, encountered backlash as audiences pointed out that the dialogues, especially those delivered by Lord Hanuman's character, appeared to be poorly written and casual.

If done right, this could be the Ramayana that rewrites history on the big screen — and in our hearts. Let’s wait and watch!
