Sohum Shah’s Crazxy Movie Review
'Crazxy' is a movie that will keep you captivated, featuring a strong performance by Sohum Shah and an intense storyline. The level of suspense and excitement is certainly substantial, but the film's climax might have needed to be more powerful to align with the tension that develops over time. Nevertheless, the film is a commendable thriller, providing an engaging experience. It's essential viewing for enthusiasts of intense, character-focused narratives that challenge limits.
Featuring a compelling lead performance, sharp editing, and an engaging plot, 'Crazxy' is worth viewing and merits a score of 3 out of 5 stars.
Crazxy Story
The movie opens on April 1 with Dr. Abhimanyu Sood (played by Sohum Shah), initiating a tense and anxiety-inducing experience. Dr. Sood, a doctor, makes his way to the hospital carrying Rs 5 crore in cash to resolve a legal dispute with the family of a patient who passed away because of his hospital's negligence. However, the storyline takes an unexpected twist when an unidentified caller informs him that his daughter, Vedika, has been abducted and a ransom of Rs 5 crore is required for her freedom.
As Dr. Sood navigates two conflicting scenarios—one about the settlement figure and the other concerning his daughter's wellbeing—the pressure starts to escalate. This specific setting enables the character to develop, revealing that Dr. Sood is far from honorable. It is disclosed that he is a man who had regarded his daughter, Vedika, nearly with contempt, at one point contemplating an abortion upon discovering she had 'Down Syndrome'. The narrative revolves around this very absence of emotional connection to his daughter, challenging both his ethics and his decisions.
The actual surprise occurs when Dr. Sood discovers that the kidnapper is actually Vedika's teacher, Prasad (played by Tinu Anand). Thus, the predicament for Dr. Sood: forfeit the funds to rescue his daughter or allow her to endure pain to escape the repercussions of his previous decisions?

New Movie Crazxy Box Office Collection
Sohum Shah's 'Crazxy' released in theaters on Friday, February 28. The film began slowly since it appears to be somewhat of a niche production. Similar to Sohum's 'Tumbbad', which required time to resonate with audiences and performed well primarily on OTT and during its subsequent theatrical re-release. In the meantime, 'Crazxy' garnered favorable word of mouth, resulting in the film experiencing some growth throughout the weekend. 'Crazxy' is created by Sohum, who also features in the cast. It is helmed by Girish Kohli.
On Friday, Day 1, it earned Rs 1 crore. In the meantime, on Saturday, it experienced a rise of 35 percent and generated Rs 1.35 crore. On the 2nd Day, Sunday, it experienced a rise of over 11 percent compared to Saturday. Therefore, it earned Rs 1.5 crore on the third day.
As per reports, the film's total earnings to date stand at Rs 3.85 crore. There could still be potential for it to stay consistent throughout the weekdays if there is increased positive word of mouth.
Nonetheless, the decline on Monday will be unavoidable, and the figures for day 4 are anticipated to be reduced. However, this is a specialized film aimed at the multiplex crowd, so such figures are acceptable.
Overall, Crazxy is a gripping thriller with strong performances and an intriguing plot. While it may not be perfect, it offers an engaging cinematic experience, especially for fans of intense, character-driven stories.
