Hailing from a renowned Biraha family in Ghazipur, Nirahua initially pursued a career as a Biraha singer. Nirahua's parents are Kumar Yadav and Chandrajyoti Yadav. His family includes a brother named Pravesh Lal Yadav and a sister named Lalita Yadav. His formative years were spent in the "Belghoria" area of Kolkata, where his father was employed in a factory. He completed his education in the same Kolkata suburbs. Hailing from a family of renowned Biraha folk singers from Ghazipur, his cousins include the famous Biraha singer Vijay Lal Yadav, known as "Biraha Samrat," and the writer and lyricist Pyare Lal Yadav (Kaviji), who has contributed to numerous songs in Bhojpuri cinema.

Acting career

Early hits and establishment (2006–2011)

He commenced his acting journey with the Bhojpuri film "Humka Aisa Waisa Na Samjha" in 2006, advocating for Bhojpuri recognition. However, "Chalat Musafir Moh Liyo Re" was his first released movie, portraying a supporting role. His career gained momentum with "Ho Gail Ba Pyar Odhaniya Waali Se" in 2007, followed by the super hit "Nirahua Rikshawala." By 2008, he earned the title "Jublee Star" with hits like "Lagal Raha Ae Rajaji." Known for his natural acting and action prowess, he continued delivering hits such as "Pratigya," "Pariwaar," "Nirahua No. 1," and "Saat Saheliyan." Critics praised his performance in "Aulaad" (2011), with Times of India acknowledging his portrayal.

TV debut and high budget films (2012–2018)

In 2012, he ventured into reality TV as a contestant on Bigg Boss. His film "Ganga Jamuna Saraswati" (2012) set a record, grossing 1.25 crores in three weeks, the highest for a Bhojpuri movie at the time. He shared the screen with Amitabh Bachchan and Jaya Bachchan in "Ganga Devi" (2012). "Nirahua Hindustani" (2014), his fiftieth project, saw success in multiplexes. In 2019, he made his OTT debut with "Hero Vardiwala," the first-ever Bhojpuri language web series. His first short film, "Kukkur," released in 2021, addressing the challenges faced by elderly people in old-age homes. On December 10, 2021, "Hum Hain Dulha Hindustani," a romantic comedy starring Amrapali Dubey and Madhu Sharma, premiered. This marked his second film shot in London after "Nirahua Chalal London." His next short film, "Dahar," was released on January 1, 2022. In his subsequent film "Naach Baiju Naach," released in September, he portrayed the role of a Launda.

Political career

In March 2019, Nirahua entered politics by joining the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Lucknow, with Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath in attendance. Subsequently, he was nominated as a candidate for the 2019 Indian Lok Sabha election from Azamgarh constituency. However, he faced defeat against Akhilesh Yadav, the former Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, by a margin of 259,874 votes. In the 2022 bypolls for the Azamgarh constituency, he emerged victorious, defeating Samajwadi Party candidate Dharmendra Yadav by a margin of 8,700 votes.

Personal life

In 2000, Nirahua tied the knot with Mansha Yadav, with whom he shares two sons named Aditya Yadav and Amit Yadav, as well as a daughter named Aditi Yadav. Additionally, there have been rumors suggesting that he is also married to his co-actor, Amrapali Dubey.
