Superstar Salman Khan's blockbuster action film, Tiger 3, has made little noise at the box office. The third part of the hit franchise has been an underperformer at the ticket window, with collections on a free fall since the Diwali holidays got over.
On the third Tuesday, Tiger 3 recorded Rs 2.25 cr all-India net, according to industry tracker Sacnilk, taking its total to Rs 276 crore. The film's global collection currently stands at Rs 446 crore.
The collections have sealed the fate of the film, which will now not even be able to cross the figures of its second installment, Tiger Zinda Hai, which was around Rs 339 cr all India net and Rs 558 cr globally.
Maneesh Sharma's directorial was hit by mixed word of mouth, coupled with important World Cup matches which dented its collections on crucial days. The film never could register the euphoria associated with a Salman Khan star, after a record-breaking start.
Tiger 3 will now likely be Spy Universe’s least successful film. Hrithik Roshan's 2019 release War had netted Rs 318 cr all India, with a worldwide total of Rs 471 crore. The highest-grossing film in the universe is Shah Rukh Khan's Pathaan, which did a mammoth Rs 1000 cr globally.
Tiger 3 also started Katrina Kaif and Emraan Hashmi both playing Pakistani agents, while Salman featured in the titular role as an Indian RAW agent. The film’s collection will now take a hit this Friday as Ranbir Kapoor headlined Animal. The Sandeep Reddy Vanga directorial is expected to clock one of the biggest openings of all time.
