The story of the wonderful writing duo Salim Khan and Javed Akhtar will be brought to the screen in a documentary film produced by their sons, Salman Khan, actor Farhan Akhtar and director Zoya Akhtar.
The documentary titled “Angry Young Men” is directed by Namrata Rao, who is known for her work as an editor on films like Oye Lucky! Lucky Oye!, Ishqiya, Band Baaja Baaraat and Kahaani.

The documentary will be produced as a joint project under three posters: Salman Khan Films, Excel Entertainment by Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani and Tiger Baby Films by Zoya Akhtar and Reema Kagti.
The duo known as Salim Javid revolutionized Hindi cinema in the 1970s, with their films such as Zanjir, Sholay and Dewar speaking to audiences.

“The project will capture the magic of the era that Salim-Javed, together created,” read a statement from the producers.
The title of the documentary, Angry Young Men, refers to the type of grumpy young hero the duo created in the 1970s, who became a movie star at the time and also gave birth to star Amitabh Bachchan.
