Director Varsha Bharath's coming-of-age film, 'Bad Girl', is set to launch in India on September 5. The Censor Board of Film Certification (CBFC) has approved the Tamil film with a U/A certificate. When the film's teaser debuted on YouTube in January, it stirred controversy regarding the Brahmin depiction and featured a young woman turning to alcohol and smoking.

Bad Girl Achievements
'Bad Girl', created by Vetri Maaran and showcased by Anurag Kashyap, has received global recognition, securing major awards at numerous film festivals. It won the NETPAC Award for Best Asian Film at the Rotterdam International Film Festival and the Young Jury Award for Best Feature Film at the Cinema Jove - Valencia International Film Festival.
In order to increase its global recognition, "Bad Girl" will also be screened at other international film festivals, such as the New Horizons International Film Festival in Poland and Karawan Fest in Italy.
