Who Is Major Shaitan Singh, Portrayed by Farhan Akhtar?
Major Shaitan Singh Bhati (born on December 1, 1924, in Jodhpur, Rajasthan) is remembered for his unmatched courage and bravery. He joined the Jodhpur State Forces in 1949 and was later transferred to the Kumaon Regiment.
During the 1962 India-China war, Major Shaitan Singh’s unit (C Company, 13th Battalion, Kumaon Regiment) was posted at Rezang La. Despite heavy Chinese attacks, he motivated his soldiers and fought till his last breath. Even after being seriously injured, he continued to fight and laid down his life for the country.

In 1963, he was posthumously awarded the Param Vir Chakra, India’s highest military honor. With just 120 brave soldiers, Major Shaitan Singh stood strong against over 1300 Chinese troops. In his memory, many memorials have been built, including the famous “Rezang La War Memorial.”
Now, a new film titled '120 Bahadur' is being made on his life. Farhan Akhtar will play a key role in the movie. The film is set to release on 21st November 2025.
