Although the film received positive feedback from critics, it did not succeed in the box office. After 14 days of release, it only managed to make Rs 2.75 crore in India.

Sarangapani, an automobile dealer and fervent astrology enthusiast, is the protagonist of the film. He has feelings for his manager, Mythili, and their families endorse their relationship. Nonetheless, a credible astrologer predicts that Sarangapani will kill someone before his marriage, leaving him stunned.

To prevent this, he will murder an unsuspecting person. The film follows the consequences of his decision and if he will be apprehended for the offense. The movie was helmed by Indraganti Mohanakrishna and produced by Sivalenka Krishna Prasad under the Sridevi Movies banner.

A prominent director, Indraganti has directed several successful movies, including the Nani-led films Gentleman and Ashta Chamma.
