The Punjabi movie Saunkan Saunkne emerged as one of the most enjoyable successes when it premiered in cinemas in 2022. Featuring Sargun Mehta and Nimrat Khaira (Afsar) as the main characters Naseeb Kaur and Kirna competing for Bambukat star Ammy Virk's Nirman Singh, the film was packed with funny yet occasionally strange scenes. Now, with the follow-up Saunkan Saunkanay 2 in progress, there's double enjoyment, this time featuring Sargun Mehta in a dual role. And this time, the movie has become videsi.
Sargun Mehta’s Dual Role In Saunkan Saunkanay 2
Sargun Mehta, who was relatively fresh to Pollywood during the Saunkan Saunkne era (and had reunited with her Qismat 2 co-star), is here to shine. She is out there excelling in both desi and videsi roles for the sequel. A blonde Sargun is presented as a Christian, ultimately becoming the third Mrs. Nirman Singh. Indeed, Nirman goes against tradition and opts for a church wedding, with all his friends eagerly anticipating the couple's kiss to finalize their union. Interestingly, she also showcases a desi look after the wedding, which is a key feature of the trailer as well.
Saunkan Saunkne Release Date
Saunkan Saunkanay 2 is set to release on May 30. The movie is set to release in theaters, but the OTT partner has yet to be announced. The film is expected to maintain its brief eight-week period before becoming available on OTT. Nonetheless, the creators have not provided any news regarding the film.
