Bigg Boss OTT 3 is back with its signature mix of drama, controversies, and rivalries among housemates. This season, however, brings a major change with Anil Kapoor stepping in as the new host, replacing Salman Khan, who previously helmed the first two seasons. The shift in hosting has stirred up some controversy, particularly from Bigg Boss 11 winner Shilpa Shinde, who voiced her discontent about the change.
In a recent interaction with the paparazzi, Shilpa Shinde expressed her thoughts on the new hosting arrangement, saying, “Host nahi hai toh mazaa nahi hai. ‘Jhakaas’ walo ke apne jagah alag hai. Baaki, Bigg Boss bole toh bhai bhai (There is no fun if we do not have the original host. Those known for ‘jhakaas’ have their own place. But, when it comes to Bigg Boss, it’s only Salman Khan brother).” Shilpa’s comments highlight a sentiment among some fans that Salman Khan's presence was integral to the show’s appeal.

Anil Kapoor, who takes over the hosting duties for this season, has shared his perspective on stepping into the role previously held by Karan Johar and Salman Khan. In an interview, Anil emphasized the importance of authenticity, saying, “We’re all different people. So the idea is just to be yourself, use your life experiences and the kind of person you are. When I did 24, originally done by Kiefer Sutherland, or The Night Manager, my role originally played by Hugh Laurie, they are world-class actors. Or when I’ve done Hindi remakes of films in which Kamal Haasan, Rajinikanth, or Chiranjeevi were the leading men. They have their own style. But when you do it, you make it your own.”
Bigg Boss OTT 3 features a diverse cast of contestants including Armaan Malik, Kritika Malik, Lovekesh Kataria, Vishal Pandey, Chandrika Dixit (known as Vada Pav girl), Shivani Kumari, Sai Ketan Rao, Sana Makbul, Ranvir Shorey, and Deepak Chaurasia. The season has already garnered significant attention due to a high-profile conflict between Armaan Malik and Vishal Pandey. The dispute escalated when Armaan allegedly slapped Vishal over inappropriate remarks made about Armaan’s second wife, Kritika. This incident has sparked a wave of support for Vishal from fans and celebrities like Gauhar Khan, Rakhi Sawant, and Bebika Dhurve, who have called for Armaan’s eviction from the show. Vishal’s family has also requested that the producers take action against Armaan.
