Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor's Brahmastra is finally over. Director Ayan Mukerji announced the end of the film after recently wrapping up the three-day Varanasi program. Sharing a photo with the main cast, Ayan happily revealed that filming for the movie is finally over after five long years.
He wrote, "Finally...it's the end! 5 years since we took our first brahmastra shot, we finally took our last shot! Absolutely amazing, challenging, once in a lifetime journey! Filming 'Part One: Shiva' in Varanasi - A city infused with the spirit of Shiv Bhagwan, this is also found in the holiest Kashi Vishwanath Mandir, allowing us to end in an atmosphere of purity, joy and blissful blessings!Exciting days to come, last roll!09.09.2022 - Here we are!"
Announcing the ending, Ayan also shared some private photos. The enthusiastic Alia also shared a video announcing the film's closure, writing, "We started filming in 2018. And now...finally...shooting for Brahmastra (Part 1) is over! I've been wanting to say!!! Packed with the utmost in hard work, dedication, love and passion only to unfold on the big screens for you to experience! #Brahmastra Part 1: Shiva will hit theaters on 09.09.2022!

While Ayan had conceived the idea of Brahmastra coming back when he was filming Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani, the director started shooting the movie around 2017-18. The film is set to be a trilogy and promises to bring an unprecedented spectacle to the big screen.
In addition to Alia and Ranbir, the film also stars veteran Amitabh Bachchan, southern star Nagarjuna, Moni Roy, and even SRK in a cameo.
The release date of the film was recently announced and Alia Ranbir's first look was also revealed. Directed by Ayan Mukerji and produced by Fox Star Studios, Dharma Productions, Prime Focus and Starlight Pictures, Brahmastra will be released in theaters on September 9, 2022 in five Indian languages: Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada.
