Bollywood losses yet another star: Veteran choreographer dies due to cardiac arrest

Veteran Bollywood Choreographer Saroj Khan died at a Mumbai hospital Friday morning after she suffered a cardiac arrest, her daughter confirmed. She was 71.

Saroj Khan was hospitalized since 20th June due to breathing complaints. Her condition deteriorated on Thursday night in the ICU. She breathed her last around 1:52 am on Friday.

“She passed away due to cardiac arrest at around 2:30 am at the hospital,” Saroj khan nephew Manish Jagwani told news agency PTI. 

Saroj Khan was laid to rest in a cemetery in Mumbai’s Malad by her family at 7:00 am in the morning. 

As per the reports she was admitted to Guru Nanak Hospital in Bandra due to breathing problems on June 20. Following her hospitalization, Saroj Khan underwent a Covid-19 test also but it was negative.

She is one of the choreographers who has seen four decades, Saroj khan is credited with choreographing more than 2,000 songs in her career. She is a three-time National Award winner and has choreographed some of the most memorable and super hit songs such as Dola Re Dola from Sanjay Leela Bhansali film, Ek Do Teen from Madhuri Dixit starrer Tezaab and also Yeh Ishq Haye from Jab We Met.

Her last choreographed song was Tabaah Hogaya, featuring Madhuri from filmmaker Karan Johar’s production Kalank in 2019.
