Even at the age of 75, the superstar Amitabh Bachchan is on the wish list of every director. Earlier Bachchan Sr. himself revealed that how his working diary is Chocó blocked completely. His finesse as an actor demands people to watch more and more of him on the screen. And now another National Award winning director has signed him for his next film.
In the year 2016 a Marathi film became the buzz of the town and that was ‘Sairat’. This film was a blockbuster hit in Marathi cinema. Everything about the film was special, from its storyline to the performances by the newcomers and Nagraj Manjule, the director of the film was the man behind the success of the film. His mindblowing direction gave the film an altogether new meaning. After the success of his Marathi film, Nagraj is planning to make a foray into Bollywood.
‘Sairat’ was even appluaded by BIG B. He even tweeted for the same, “"Oh ...!! and saw the film 'Sairat', the Marathi wonder.. what a great cinematic experience... what a movie.”(sic)
Finally the director Nagraj Manjule has signed the megastar for his debut film in Hindi cinema. The reports say that after ‘Sairat’, he had another Marathi script in his mind but he chose to revisit the story and now finally has revamped it according to the Hindi audience. Instead of writing the script in Marathi, he has penned the script in Hindi. He worked on it for a year and a half and took the script to Mr. Bachchan in January 2018. Finally Big B has given a nod to the film. Bachchan will portray a staunch patriarch's character which will have its share of grey shades as well. Apart from that, the storyline and rest of the cast is being kept strictly under the wraps.
Nagraj is presently refining his script and the film is expected to go on floors next year. He recently revealed that Big B’s influence on his life made him took up the profession of filmmaking. He was a big source of inspiration for Nagraj during his growing up days and today making a film with him is a dream comes true for him.
Apart from this, Big B will soon be seen in Umesh Shukla’s ‘102 Not Out’ starring Rishi Kapoor alongside him. He would be shooting for ‘Kaun Banega Crorepati’ for the entire month of August. Then in September, he would return to finish his shoot for ‘Thugs Of Hindostan'. In October, he would shoot for Ayan Mukejee’s film ‘Dragon’ to be produced by Karan Johar. Post which he has a film with Kabir Khan, R Balki and Shoojit Sircar.
