Farhan Akhtar’s ‘Lucknow Central’ recreate ‘Kawa Kawa’
Our Hindi films are known to follow certain trends and right now the industry is obsessed with recreating popular old songs with a new tadka. This new trend is getting good response from the audience as well, right from ‘Tamma Tamma’ Again from ‘Badrinath Ki Dulhania, The ‘Humma’ Song from ‘OK Jaanu', and ‘Raabta’ from ‘Raabta’, ‘Laila O Laila’ from ‘Raees’ and now the makers of Farhan Akhtar's upcoming film ‘Lucknow Central’ will be soon bringing to you the recreated version of the super hit song of Mira Nair’s 2001 film ‘Monsoon Wedding’ ‘Kawa Kawa’.
The trailer of the film ‘Lucknow Central’ was released recently and it has already created the right buzz amongst the audience because of its gripping storyline and its massive set. The film has been directed by debutante director Ranjit Tiwari. The story of the film revolves around a group of prisoners in the Lucknow Central jail who plan to escape from the jail using music as their weapon. Farhan would be seeing in the role of a rural Indian man for the first time. Apart from Farhan, the film also stars Diana Penty, Deepak Dobriyal, Gippy Grewal, Rajesh Sharma, Inaamulhaq, Uday Tikekar, Sukh Kunwar and Ronit Roy in pivotal roles. Bhojpuri superstar Ravi Kishen also has a special appearance in the film and has already shot for his portion.
‘Kawa Kawa’ which was originally crooned by Sukhwinder became a party and wedding special at that time and now the recreated version will be composed by Arjuna Harjaie with lyrics by Kumaar and vocals by Divya Kumar.
The producer of the film Nikkhil Advani confirmed that they wanted an anthem song for the film and after a lot of debate they finally zeroed in on ‘Kawa Kawa’ as even after 16 years of its release this song is popular amongst all age groups till date. It is a must play at every sangeet and dance parties. The recreated version of ‘Kawa Kawa’ will be out-and-out peppy number.
Produced by Viacom18 Motion Pictures and Emmay Entertainment and Motion Pictures, ‘Lucknow Central’ will hit the cinema screens on 15th September. Apart from ‘Lucknow Central’, Habib Faisal’s upcoming film ‘Qaidi Band’ is also based on a similar storyline which is releasing on the 25th August.
Farhan’s last film ‘Rock On 2’ failed to impress both the critics and the audience both. He has huge aspirations from this film. Let’s wait and watch!!
