This fiery actress is all set to play a fierce role in her next film ‘Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi’. A historical film is based on the life of ‘Manikarnika’ later known as ‘Rani Lakshmi Bai’ who became the Queen of Jhansi. Rani Lakshmi Bai played an important role in the revolt of 1857. The story revolves around her struggle and how she overcome all the difficulties and discovered the true warrior within her. Kangana is known to get into the skin of her character and she has already started prepping for this role and undoubtedly she will nail it with great perfection like her previous roles!
Ace designer Neeta Lulla is designing Kangana’s costumes for the film. The first sketch of Kangana’s look from the film has been revealed and it is intriguing and captivating. It is Royal in every sense. Rani Lakshmi Bai is till date known for her unique style of dressing and going by the sketch, it surely seems Kangana and her director along with costume designer has achieved the look rightly. The first sketch has managed to grab so many eyeballs that have left us wondering what will happen when the audience will see it on screen
Film has been written by KV Vijayendra Prasad who also penned ‘Baahubali’ and ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’. Previously Ketan Mehta was supposed to direct the film but the actress and the director had difference of opinion and therefore Kangana got another director on board to helm the film. The film will now be directed by Krish who previously directed ‘Gabbar is Back’. The pre production of the film is going on in full swings and the shoot of the film is expected to go on floors by first week of June 2017.
Kangana has already started taking horse riding lessons at Mumbai’s Mahalaxmi race course with one of finest riders – Suresh Taporia. She wants to make her character look as real as possible and wants to do workshops to learn hand-to-hand combats, how to ride in a sari, with a baby tied to her back, fighting with two swords and holding the reins in her mouth. Rumors are rife that Hollywood actor Hugh Grant too is being approached to play the position of Common Hugh Rose in the movie.
