TABBU s LOST CHARM- Found Again?

Bollywood- it’s a fancy term for not only Indians but for a lot of other people around the globe. People who enter bollywood wish for a remarkable debut and then a steady career after that. Many people who entered bollywood got a big break and got hit but what happened afterwards is still a mystery. There are a few actresses who got married and left bollywood and there were some who went MIA for a long time. And one of them is Tabbu. She is 46 and single. Tabbu had never been shy about her love life. She accepts that she has learnt her love lessons in a rather hard way.

Her first affair was with actor Sanjay Kapoor. They started dating during the shoot of ‘Prem’. Nobody knows what went wrong but they parted their ways and are still not in talking terms.

Next man in Tabbu’s life was director/producer Sajid Nadiawala. Sajid was coping with his wife, Divya Bharti’s loss when the affair started. They tried to hide because of the mysterious ways in which Divya died, but the truth eventually came out.

Third man in tabbu’s life taught him the hardest lesson of her life. Her affair started with Nagarjuna, one of the biggest south actors who were already married when the affair started. After 10 long years, when Tabbu realised that he is not going to leave his wife, she broke up with him. Tabbu was heartbroken after this break up and it was a really hard time for her.

Tabbu was 10 when she made her first screen appearance in the movie bazaar. Tabbu got known in 1994 with vijaypath. Ajay Devgan and tabbu starred movie vijaypath was the biggest hit of the year. She won Filmfare Best Female performance for the movie. After that she gave a lot of hits like sajan chale sasural, jeet, hum naujawaan etc. She has acted in English, Tamil, Telegu, Malayalam, Marathi and Bengali films. Her first full fleged role was in a telegu movie collie no. 1 opposite south star Venkatesh. She got her first break in bollywood film Prem, produced by Boney Kapoor that took 8 year to complete and was a flop. After a lot of flops she gave a lot of hits at the box office.

After CHEENI KUM in 2007 she made a stupefying come back with HAIDER in 2014. Haider was the adaptation film of Shakespeare’s Hamlet. She played mother to Shahid Kapoor. Tabbu’s performance was critically acclaimed, with the New York Times saying that the film should have been titled Ghazala (Tabbu’s character), rather than Haider. Next film was DRISHYAM. Her performance of a police officer investigating her son’s murder case received unanimous praise. Then she appeared in movies like talvar, Fitoor etc. Irrespective of the fact that these movies didn’t do well, Tabbu received positive reviews for her performances. After that in 2017, she received a lot of praises for her role of ghost buster in GOLMAAL.

Now, let’s talk about her recent release, ANDHADHUNDH. There is nothing more satisfying than watching an intelligent, emotionally complex, thriller filled deceit, betrayal and remorseless sociopaths. It is an unapologetic celebration of darkness and mean spiritedness. It has a killer plot and some unsavoury souls thrown in for good measure. It has a set of supremely talented actors including, Aayushman Khurana, Radhika Aapte and Tabbu. Tabbu a two time Indian National Award winner is a treat to watch. She is an incorrigible tease, who is unthreatening one minute, but unadulterated the next. Her switch from seductress to a sociopath is worth watching.

Unlike others, Tabbu has never been a glamorous actress. But she is undoubtedly, one of the best actresses bollywood can ever have. Her charm got lost somewhere, but who cares right? We have found it back! She may not meet the conventional beauty standards of our society. But again, who cares? She is beautiful in her own way. And that’s what we like about her. Her comeback has now clearly stated that she has the fire and talent to be in this industry.
