MI s backing helps Ishan Kishan flourish in top order

When Kolkata Knight Riders and Mumbai Indians heated into the first strategic timeout at the Eden Gardens on Wednesday 9th May, the home team was comfortably placed.

Rohit Sharma, the captain, to form a plan with Ishan Kishan, who had just walked out to bat. Mumabi Indians were 62 for 2 after nine overs and wobbling. Rohit's message to Kishan was pretty simple - "back yourself and attack".

On the last night, it took Kishan just 30 minutes to change the complexion of the game. He smashed 62 off 21 and took the match out of KKR's hand in a matter of four overs. His innings, at that stage of the game, changed the course of the game. He batted really well and he played some nice shots. He used his feet well and take over to counter the KKR spinners. All his six sixes came against the spinners

One of the highlights of Kishan's innings came in the 14th over when he took on Kuldeep. The third ball was slog-swept over square leg, the fourth one was hit over midwicket, the fifth one tonked over long-on and the final delivery of the over was whipped between long-on and midwicket. Kishan had not only raced to a 17-ball half-century, the joint second-fastest in IPL 2018.

"I also get lots of tips from "Dhoni bhai" He's a legend player and he keeps telling me you can take time. Just read the situation and see how to build your innings. I feel confident when these guys talk to me."
