After the luke warm response of his last release ‘Chef’ at Box office, Bollywood’s ‘Nawab’ Saif Ali Khan is ready to try something quirky, with director Akshat Verma’s ‘Kaalakaandi’. Besides Saif Ali Khan, the movie also stars, Amyra Dastur, Shehnaz Treasurywala, Shobhita Dhuilpala, Kunal Roy Kapur, Vijay Raaz, Deepak Dobriyal, Akshay Oberoi, Isha Talwar, Neil Bhoopalam and Pankaj Tripathi. As the movie gets ready to hit the theatres on January 12, 2018, we bring you some amusing facts about it, which you were not aware of-

1. Saif Ali Khan completes his 60th film with ‘Kaalakaandi’

Saif Ali Khan completed 25 years in Bollywood entertaining his audiences. He gave some best movies to the audience like ‘Dil Chahta Hai’, ‘Salaam Namaste’, ‘Omkara’ and ‘Being Cyrus’. With ‘Kaalakaandi’ Saif has reached the mark of 60th film.

2. Deepak Dobriyal Turned Hariyanvi tutor

Deepak Dobriyal helped his co-star in learning Haryanvi during a song shoot. As the cast was shooting for the song “Swagpur ka Choudhary” a break beat meets funk rock track with Haryanvi lyrics, the actors found the song difficult to connect with and were not able to bring out the essence of it. That’s when Deepak Dobriyal, who plays a gangster in the film, came to their rescue and explained the meaning and the feel of the song post which the actors could easily slip into the mood. 

3. Neil’s character is inspired by Big B

Neil Bhoopalam plays the role of an underworld don and a sharp shooter in ‘Kaalakaandi’. His look in the film resembles the 80’s style with long side locks, bell bottoms and tight shirts. The actor took inspiration from Amitabh Bachchan for his role. Neil watched a lot of Big B movies and tried copying his stance.

4. Saif Ali Khan choreographed ‘Kaala Doriya’

Known for taking risk in portraying out of the box characters, Saif Ali Khan has never shied away from experimentation. The actor turned choreographed for the wedding song ‘Kaala Doreya’ in the film. Earlier Saif showcased his choreography talent with ‘Dil Chahta Hai’s famous signature dance step in ‘Woh Ladki Hai Kahan’.

5. Nary Singh’s Fan Girl moment!

Nary Singh who is one of the most talked about characters in ‘Kaalakaandi’ had her fan girl moment. Nari Singh shares screen space with Saif Ali Khan and plays a very pivotal role in the movie. Nary was absolutely awestruck and extremely nervous while enacting her scenes with him. When director Akshat Verma shared this with Saif, he helped her ease out and make her comfortable.
